Binge Eating Disorder

A friend of mine came over last week, and as we talked, she mentioned how facing her life’s challenges made her emotional and became a binge eater. Unresolved emotional conflicts can prompt us into binging.Binge Eating Disorder

Binge eating is an out of control, compulsive overeating when people eat huge amounts of food. Some binge eaters have their periods when they consume unhealthy amounts of food, this time frame could last anywhere between 30 minutes to two hours. Others over eat all day long.

Unfortunately, people are binging to cover some kind of emotional emptiness with food. But people with binge eating disorder struggle with feelings of guilt, disgust, and depression. It’s a circle of unhealthy behavior. It may be comforting for a brief moment, but then reality sets back in, along with regret and self-loathing.

As we talked, I realized that this summer, regardless of exercising, I still didn’t loose weight. I realized I was binge eating too. Suddenly, it became clear that my emotional overeating was the result of the fact that this summer nothing worked as the years before.

Extreme Makeover

Website MakeoverYou know the shows: the home makeover, the body makeover, financial makeover and the list goes on. We watch them and like them. If we want to be honest, we wish to be the recipients of some makeovers.

‘How to look ten years younger’? – All you need is a body makeover. It’s either a smaller makeover, when a professional hair stylist will change your look with a more fit hair style or a ‘what not to wear’ team will throw out your wardrobe and teach you how to dress well for your body type – or you can have a liposuction session to eliminate your excess fat, or cosmetic procedure to eliminate your wrinkles and the list could go on.

The truth is sometimes you can have an extreme makeover, but it might not be as easy it seems. With perseverance you can reach your goals. Successful people keep going when is hard to reach their goals. This is absolutely true for any weight loss and dieting goal too. Starting well is not enough. You need to be persistent to get results.

What I learned over the years watching these extreme makeover programs, that every time someone receives an extreme makeover of any kind they loose something. The saying is “there is no gain without pain” and that’s the way it is. You loose your old look for a new fresh style. You loose your fat, for a flat tummy. You loose your old sweater, for a more contemporary look. The fact is, in every kind of makeover those who decide to go through, they have to give up something, they have to loose something to be able to receive the desired result.

As you can see my website is going through an extreme makeover as well. Please be patient with me. I moved from blogger to wordpress template. I know for some of my readers this isn’t an interesting notification. I wasn’t happy with the options blogger templates have so I made a decision to switch.
I know the page looks little different, but it will help in the long run. WordPress templates are easier to work with and their SEO possibilities are much better.

Unfortunately, as with every extreme makeover, I have my lost too. I lost all my comments from my dear friends and followers. This is sad because we build a relationship through comments and I get to know some of you throughout this blog.

So I would like to hear your feedback. What do you thing about the website’s extreme makeover? Do you like this new site? What do you like better? What is what you really dislike?
